Potential Tropical Cyclone #7 develops, Tropical Storm Watch issued for LA

Invest 91L has been updated to Potential Tropical Cyclone #7 as enough organization has occurred to warrant the necessity for a Tropical Storm Watch in advance.

Even though technically the storm has not been updated to a tropical depression or storm, chances are high enough that it will occur over the next day to get the watches/warnings posted in advance. This is the reasoning behind the Potential Tropical Cyclone designation.

A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued from Morgan City, LA to the Alabama-Florida border. Tropical Storm force conditions are expected in these areas within the next 48 hrs.

The official track for this system has also been issued and takes a 65 mph tropical storm into Southeast Louisiana, very near New Orleans overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Then rides it up the boot of the state. The next name on the list will be Gordon.
