Marginal Risk for Severe Weather Today, 12/13/18

Our next storm system is moving through the region with a round of showers and storms expected on Thursday. The overall severe threat is low with this storm system as heavy downpours look to be the greatest impact for the majority of Louisiana.

A few spots may get between 1-2″ of rain but this will be a progressive storm keeping us from seeing any flood issues. Later in the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday, a few storms may reach severe criteria with the biggest threat being damaging winds and maybe even an isolated tornado or two. But again, that threat remains on the low side.

On the back side of the front, Friday will be cloudy and dreary with lingering sprinkles/showers in the cooler air. Don’t fret, the weekend is looking fabulous!
