Marginal Risk for severe weather, 6/5/18

We have a Marginal Risk for severe weather today per the Storm Prediction Center.  We’re already seeing a number of strong thunderstorms across northern Louisiana and southern Mississippi this morning.  As the day moves on, and day time heating progresses, this energy will push south toward the coastal parts of the states.

The main threat will be damaging winds, but small hail will also be possible.  This is not a widespread event and many folks will not even get a drop, but if you’re one of the lucky ones to get caught under one of these storms, be prepared for dangerous lightning and possible flash flooding as well.

Strong thunderstorms will then be possible each afternoon through the weekend.
