Hurricane Willa’s remnants drench Louisiana

Lots of reports of street flooding across the New Orleans metro area as the remnants of Hurricane Willa move across the region. Some reports relayed to media mentioned up to 10″ of water on streets in Metairie. As far as we know this morning, no water has entered any homes.

Surprisingly enough no Flash Flood Warnings were issued by the National Weather Service this morning. Along a Flood Advisory for the NOLA metro area. However first hand reports suggest a warning would have been warranted.

Today’s rains across southeast Louisiana will come to an end by this evening. Then it looks to be dry for the rest of the month through Halloween. At this time, it’s looking like our next cold front does not come through until AFTER Halloween so this means we’ll likely have a warmer night for Trick or Treating than some prefer.
