Slowly the development chances for Invest 90L, which is meandering over the northwest Caribbean, have increased over the past few days.
The National Hurricane Center has now bumped up development chances to 50% over the next 5 days. No development is expected in the short-term as conditions will not become more favorable for development until late week as the storm moves into the Gulf.
All residents from Louisiana to Florida should continue to monitor the latest weather information as the forecast becomes clearer the next few days. The biggest threat from this system will be the heavy rain potential but that depends greatly on track which remains a question mark at this point.
Those with outdoor activities or vacations planned for Memorial Day weekend are also urged to monitor this disturbance closely.
