Heavy rains this week pose flood threat

The remnants of INVEST 91L is generating a lot of tropical moisture and all that moisture is pushing inland across eastern Texas and Louisiana. Rainfall rates at times may approach 2 – 4″ per hour.

A Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for all of south Louisiana, and across through southeast Texas, including Houston, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

A High Risk of flash flooding has been issued today for portions of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana, where upwards of a foot of rain is possible. The risk for flash flooding will shift eastward through Friday along the Gulf Coast. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Follow your local NWS office and be sure to check back for updates.
