Gulf disturbance to bring heavy rain threat to Louisiana

The remnants of Invest 91L continue to show no signs of further development but that doesn’t mean tropical impacts will not be felt along the Gulf Coast.

Over the next few days, a large swath of tropical moisture will be pulled north into Texas and Louisiana leading to heavy rain potential.

Between 1-3″ of rain are expected to fall across the entire state thru Friday with isolated bands of 6″+ possible where training occurs.

Although area rivers have been swollen for some time due to flooding rains up north, much of the area is relatively dry from the lack of local rainfall the past few weeks.

This should allow for sufficient draining, however depending on the intensity of rainfall rates, localized flooding needs to be monitored.
