Along with a possible severe weather threat, flash flooding will be a concern on Wednesday and Thursday.
The National Weather Service currently has Flash Flood Watches in effect until Thursday afternoon. A strong upper level low and associated cold front will move very slowly east over the next couple of days. These features will interact with abundant moisture over the area to produce widespread showers and storms capable of producing heavy rainfall.
Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches can be expected, with locally higher amounts up to 7 inches possible.
