In addition to tomorrow’s severe weather threat across south Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, heavy rains will be of a concern. The National Weather Service has now issued a Flash Flood Warning which will be in effect until late Saturday night.
Per the National Weather Service:
A slow moving cold front will move through southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi Saturday and Saturday night. Showers and thunderstorms will occur in advance of the front, producing heavy rainfall. Widespread rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected from late tonight through Saturday night, but some areas could see in excess of 6 inches of rain.
The flooding of roads, low lying areas, areas with poor drainage, and area rivers will be possible. If you encounter flooded roads, remember to turn around, don’t drown.
