Destructive day in the Plains

Today is going to be one of those days where folks just need to pay attention to their local weather warnings and heed all advisories. A tornado outbreak is expected to unfold across the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma later today. Some of the cities in and around the risk area include Amarillo, Lubbock, Wichita Falls, Oklahoma City, and Abilene.

Long tracked, violent tornadoes are expected. For those who enjoy watching severe weather from afar, this is one of those days you’ll want to have the radar up. We should see a number of classically structured supercells develop.

Locally, temperatures are on the rise this week with many areas reaching the mid 90’s by the weekend. Lots of sun in store!
