Coldest air of the season is inbound and will last a while

Winter is about to arrive this weekend with temperatures on Friday falling throughout the day into the 50’s and 40’s by evening. Lingering post frontal rains on Friday will make it for a pretty raw Friday night. Those of you heading out to high school playoff games, keep this in mind and dress accordingly.

A overview of high temperatures over the next 10 days or so is pretty much widespread 40’s and 50’s with a few days topping off in the low to mid 60’s. This stretch of cooler weather will be the longest stretch our area has had since last winter. 30’s and 40’s look likely on most nights through next week.

The first push moves in on Friday. Then an even stronger push of cold air moves in for mid next week where we could see widespread frost and many areas dipping below freezing for the first time this season. Some of the models even show mid 20’s for northern locations. Looking out even farther into the future, there could be yet another front arriving just in time for Thanksgiving, but we’re going to have to iron that one out a bit more as we get closer.
