This winter has been full of action thus far including our heavy snow of December 8, 2017, followed by numerous nights below freezing, near record low temperatures, flurries, and now yet another storm moving through.
As of Tuesday morning, snow was already falling across northern Louisiana and central Mississippi. Sleet and ice was beginning to cause problems in southeast Texas, moving into Houston. This weather will continue throughout the day, transitioning from rain to sleet/ice to snow, west to east. Just about everyone will get into the action at some point. Winter Storm Warnings cover a large part of central Texas into northern Louisiana, and Winter Weather Advisories are in place for southeast Texas all the way through southern Louisiana and Mississippi.
Some accumulations are likely in these areas. The precipitation will be followed by bone chilling cold temperatures for Wednesday morning. Low temperatures will be from the middle teens to lower 20’s with wind chills in the single digits.
