A rare July front is expected to make its way down to the Gulf Coast this weekend bringing a chance for strong storms followed by a hint of lower humidity.
At this time of year we take what we can get and an unusually strong front is just the treat in the midst of the summer heat.
Before the front clears the area Saturday night, a round of strong to severe storms will be possible. Whenever you combine summer heat with a front that usually means intense storms capable of producing damaging winds, dangerous lightning, small hail and very heavy rainfall.
Temperatures behind the front will not fall much but a noticeable drop in humidity levels certainly will make a difference on Sunday into Monday.
