Tropical Storm Cindy forms, rainbands spreading into Southeast Louisiana

Tropical Storm Cindy has formed in the central Gulf of Mexico based off of the latest information from the hurricane hunters.

Rainbands associated with Cindy are already beginning to move inland from the Gulf of Mexico.

The threat for heavy rainfall and flooding is quickly increasing Tuesday afternoon across the eastern part of Louisiana and coastal Mississippi.

Winds to 40 mph along with bands of tropical downpours are expected to increase through the evening into tonight.

Considering the slow movement of this system, these conditions are likely to continue through Thursday.
