Monday storms bring high flood risk, Flood Watch issued

The combination of a stalled frontal boundary slowly dissipating over the area and an abundance of Gulf moisture is likely to lead to multiple storm complexes throughout the day Monday.

Due to the slow movement of these storms, rainfall rates may easily exceed 2-3 inches per hour.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for a large portion of coastal MS into Southeast Louisiana.

Not all locations will experience flooding rainfall but where these boundaries do develop, total rainfall accumulations could exceed 5-7 inches.
