As we saw yesterday, we do not need Flash Flood Warnings to see problems. One storm dropped nearly 5 inches of rain across Mid City in New Orleans which quickly lead to knee deep water in parts of the city.
Today, we have more widespread rains which are moving west to east. If you’re caught under one of these downpours, rain amounts can add up quickly. Some areas across the Louisiana coastal parishes have seen 2 to 5 inches over the past 24 hours. Those thunderstorms to the northwest are moving southeast and should affect southeast Louisiana this afternoon.
