The cold came and went in the blink of an eye and now as we move into November the only thing on the horizon would be lots of warmth and humidity.
A ridge of high pressure is in the process of strengthening over the southern portion of the United States which is expected to block any front from coming close over the next week and possibly beyond.
In fact, models show the mid 80s for afternoon highs may persist right on through the second weekend of the month. I guess if there is any good news for those that like colder weather, usually the pattern will flip which may put us in a cold period right around the Thanksgiving holiday.
This type of pattern is common for La Nina years which is why most of the outlooks for this Winter are for warmer than normal temperatures. That does not go without being said some of our coldest outbreaks have occurred in La Nina years.
