Heavy rains today will lead to street flooding. Over the past few days, rainfall amounts have been on a steady increase for today. During the very early morning hours, the National Weather Service decided to go ahead and pull the trigger for a Flash Flood Watch. As of this morning, that Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Saturday evening, however there’s a chance it may be extended.
In east Texas and west Louisiana, some locations have seen as much as 10 INCHES of rain from midnight through Saturday morning. We’re expecting widespread totals of 3 to 4 inches in south Louisiana with locally higher amounts, possibly exceeding 6 inches.
Remember the #1 rule when it comes to flooding! Turn around, don’t drown!
