Caribbean disturbance could become Philippe by this weekend

For those of us along the northern Gulf Coast, we are getting very close to putting an end to Hurricane Season 2017.

As each front passes us by, the water of the Gulf of Mexico keeps cooling more and more which in turn is nudging any potential tracks for a tropical system farther and farther south.

In fact, we are monitoring the Caribbean for potential tropical development later this week on into this weekend. Models are on board that some form of development, most likely weak, will occur over the northwest Caribbean.

Due to a strong approaching front this system will have little chance to make it far into the Gulf before getting hooked hard right into either the Bahamas or Florida.

Overall it’s something to watch but nothing for us to be concerned about along the northern Gulf Coast.
