Heavy rain has plagued southwest Louisiana throughout the day. Some areas have seen over 3 inches right along the coast. This has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch which will be in effect through at least late tonight. At 4:42pm, you can see the moisture flow over the same areas where it’s been sitting all day.
Rain should slack off in intensity during the overnight hours, however the rain shield will build in once again for Sunday, but more so over southeast Louisiana. With so many outdoor activities planned, this will have to be watched closely.
The good news for now is that Mardi Gras Day is looking dry!
